Sims 2 University installation - Hey, trying to install Uni on a friend's computer. Hangs on 67 or 68% like many others... I was able to install TS2 when it was hanging by doing something to the effect of copying the files from the disk and putting them in a new folder... now I can't..

Like me, you used to have Supernews as a Usenet provider (your ISP
bought Usenet service from them, no doubt, as mine did). Supernews
got bought by Giganews, and the changeover happened on March 31 or
April 1. So now your provider is Giganews. (I was able to verify
these changes in your service by looking at your headers.) My ISP
didn't inform its customers of the switch, but I knew from reading
supernews.general, which is now gone.
Supernews had extremely good spam filters. Giganews, not so much. I'm
seeing more spam in some groups, like this one, but not in others.
Weird.

Your right. I didn't know the details but I did get a message from my ISP.
However, they didn't warn me about the increase in SPAM!

I don't think it is necessarily their fault. I'm reading this group through
news.individual.net right now, which in general is very good at removing
spam. But those darn porch swings are constantly appearing. It might be
more a case of clever spammer getting round the filters.

I have to agree. I use APN (Agent Premium Newsgroup) and I get the
porch swing messages too. Maybe if we all start emailing them about
where to download the swings and asking questions about which
expansion packs they are compatible with, we can frustrate the joy of
