Post subject: Poll - Are you getting GTA IV and if so which version?

Although I'm a big fan of the series, I'm not just jumping in blindly.
I may just break down and go to one of the midnight launches tonight
but I'm hoping to be able to keep my composure and just wait to see
what others think of the game (and the two versions).
In any case, I'm interested in knowing how many people here are so
stoked that they're picking it up tonight or tomorrow and which
version people are getting.
And please... if you do get it early on, please post some thoughts on
how your particular version is. Boody, I'm expecting a detailed frame-
by-frame comparison of the two versions from you by tomorrow 9AM!  |

Sleeping is such a waste of time. If I didn't have to sleep, I never
would. My wife on the other hand can't get enough. She'd lay in bed
all day long if she could.

As much as I don't like where Smelly's advice is coming from, I might
just take it and play the PS3 version now to trade it in later for the
360 version when the content comes out. I don't want to deal with
network issues during online.
Of course, if I know enough of my friends are going to get the 360
version, that might be worth it to me to deal with Live's performance.

I might have considered buying both versions but having just come back
from a vacation and now considering buying a new house, I'm getting to
the point where I can't be spending even my usual amount on video
games. |

I haven't seen any. My local Blockbuster is doing a midnight launch so
I might get it there. Of course, my wife would probably kill me for
being out that late just to get a video game so I'll probably just

I am getting the PS3 version at Midnight launch and then the 360
version after I have reached about the 50% completion point so I could
start playing online. With XBL, online will be screwed for the 1st

I probably wont be home with them until 10:30 am.
I am not going to the midnight launch because I have more important things
to do like..... SLEEP! I will be playing them side by side on the same type
of display. I would take your own advice you wrote in another thread as for
which version to get. We pretty much already know the pros and cons of each.
I doubt anything I or anyone else has to say will change that.
I most likely will end up playing the PS3 version over the 360 because my

Yes two times over. Buy one for my self then sell the other for twice

I'm still torn and probably will be until I stroll through the doors.
For me it is coming down to free online vs. DLC. The reports of

I'll get it used for $20 or less. Probably take a year or so to drop

I reserved the 360 Limited Edition about 2 months ago(before I purchased
my PS3) and will be picking it up tonight at 12am at EBGames. Since I
don't go to bed until around 5am every night ,12am is still very early
for me, so it fits right into my normal game-time hours. Oh YEAH!
I'll probably rent the PS3 version ,just to see the differences, between
the two. If the framerates and pop-in are noticably 'much' better on the
PS3,i'll eventually buy a copy. But I'm a sucker for extra content 'ala'
Shivering Isles, so I would've gotten the 360 version no matter what. I
just wish there was a HD Install option on the 360, to at least help
with load times and pop-in.

LOL. If you think it is going to drop to that level after a year or
so, think again. Halo 2 didn't drop below $30 until Halo 3 was
