'ello all,

Got a chance to play PF this weekend, on the PSX...and it was pretty
good. I was amazed at how they made two attack buttons actually work
out for the game. At any rate, I wouldn't mind picking it up. Are there
any real differences between the Saturn and PSX? I'd imagine that this
one would be real slight as the PSX version was really well animated,
and the loads weren't too bad(then again, I was playing the game
through the PS2 with the faster loading option on)...and I really
enjoyed the game actually being in English. I'm guessing the Saturn
import is purely in Japanese? Any Saturn extras or anything like that
this time around?

Oh, also, I notice the gems from Super Puzzle Fighter are in there...or
is this where they originated? Which came first, SPF or PF?

Bel

I just pulled out the manual; the option screens all look to be in
English. Oh fine, I'll pull out the game.
Yeah, just the options (including an option to go for the various RAM
options). I don't know if the EX options of Vampire Saviour are here
(complete the game without continuing, then go to the title screen,
highlight option and hold down L + R then press Start; one of the EX
options is all english text) as I don't have a game save around for PF.
I guess you'll just have to buy the game and give it a whirl...
(I can't give you a definite on the RAM changes; I have a real save cart
inserted right now, and I don't like fooling around with that port any
more than I need to...)

Heh, Pocket Fighter Saturn. While I can't answer your question as I
played PSX PF but it was way back in 1998 or thereabouts, I do have a
quick story about PF on Saturn.

I remember an auction of it was ending on a Saturday in 2002. My
cousins invited me to go to a water park with them, but heck no the
auction was ending today and zero bids at $5!! (shipping was $5 as
well)

So I stayed home, watched it, and sniped it. Turned out I didn't need
to be, coz I was the only bidder. Amazing! This game at the time I
remember going for 25-30 or so. This was a correctly spelled, 7 day
auction, with a picture even! I got super lucky. The seller also said
in his item description game is not in the best shape. Maybe that
scared some bidders off, but still, $10 for PF? Crazy!

The best part was -- it arrived almost mint. I don't know what grading
world he lives in! I was in Texas in July 2002... so my mom kept the
package in the garage. I remember being so paranoid that some punk
would steal it (my 'rents didn't get home til 7 PM)

I remember coming home with that "ahhh home sweet home" feeling, and
being so happy ripping the package open.

OK, I lied. It was a pretty long story =P
