Played HTTR last night and actually had a good time running the scenario. I
have also thought about combat feedback. This is going to sound dumb, but
how about little fade in and out text over units showing losses. You could
even animate the text to 'float' up a little to draw the player's attention.
Something like '2nd coy 20 killed' and so on.

Hi Rob,

Nice to hear you like the game.

I think it would give a nice touch. I'm going to repost it to the
"nice to have" thread in beta forums if you don't mind.
You can already have some unit history in the message log for each
unit, but, indeed it does not appear real time on the map.

Cheers,

JeF.

Nice idea. I've asked Paul Scobell to get back to me about whether MFC
supports a fade in/out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yea, lots of wargames should use ballon help type popups. TOAW3 could really
use a feature like thatas I hate hovering my mouse cursor over somehting
then having to read what it sayus at the bottom of the screen. I have this
one strat game called Knights of Honor and I don't even need to read the
manul to figure out how to play it because it has extensive popups using
semi-transparent windows. All developers should buy a copy of this game to
see how it should be done.
