Hmm. This thread which started so nicely seem to have gone completely out
of control. Perhaps it's time to "close" it? Ok, we can't do that, but
stop posting on it?

I know it's none of my business, but I can't see the use in continueing.
You two will never agree. I'm not takins sides - I don't think I was
around when it all started. And I'm sorry to say, I couldn't read the
latest exhanges. I hope I'm not offending anyone, and I'm not hurt in
anyway - but I still think it is too much now.

I would suggest you stay out of something you know nothing about.
This goes back a long, long way, with a long background you know
nothing about.

Er... that's cause it didn't start here.

Not at all offended. Usually when this happens, someone eventually
says "Enough." Just a matter of who does it. I guess it was your
turn.

If you want others not to get involved or to comment then you should not
post the whole story in a public newsgroup.

When however you do post lenghty posts with private matters in a public
newsgroup then please accept that every reader also has the right to
express his opinion to those posts.

No, I should break our vow of "email silence" and then he could start
bugging me that way again, because he already broke that rule, and I'd
get real darn sick of cancelling email accounts all the time. He's
already here and I don't have the right to make him go away so...

Even here, I don't jump into the middle of stuff when I have no clue
what's going on, or I at least *ask* something about it first. There
are things going on here, from long ago before my time, that I just
don't even bother to try to understand or get in the middle of.

You have a "right" to say anything you want and post your uneducated
opinions, and I equally had a right to suggest that you might need to
know enough about things in order to even form an opinion. Commenting
on the *fact* that I posted would be one thing. But you were saying
things that make it very clear that you have absolutely no clue about
certain things. Like your comment about everyone making assessments
based on their own limited experience. Given the circumstances and
context, that comment was totally "off," and you don't know it cause
you don't know what I was talking about. In fact, you were supporting
someone's dillusions.

I have always accepted opinions (even when I disagree) from those who
at least know a little something, and who know me. But I don't even
know who you are.
