I'm running a PHost game with Zeus addon and am running into an issue.
Apparently the PHost processor is detecting the Zeus message and
declaring it an error and deleting the message before the Zeus addon
can see it hence none of the Zeus messages are processed. Is there a
workaround for this? Are these two programs, PHost and Zeus,
incompatible?

Thanks for your help!

Additional info:
-Attempting to use Zeus Transporter (does PHost have anything like
this? I didn't see any parameters that mimic it)
-Zeus commands are processed by sending a message to yourself with
Zeus commands in the body of the message. Each line in the message
contains a Zeus command ie: tb 201. Errors are returned by PHost for
every command line in the message sent to self.

That's because phost assumes those messages are command messages to be
interpreted by itself. If you want messages to yourself be evaluated by
another programme than phost, those lines do have to start with "xtern" like
xtern do something with addon
xtern buy a vowel
xtern send cargo planet 249 to 345

It will write those commands to a file "xterncmd.ext". Zeus would have
to read that file in order to access the commands.

AFAIK there is no way that phost will ignore messages sent to yourself.

Ingo

You can start the message with "<", e.g.
<< Message to Zeus >>
give apple to athena
This is the same mechanism that makes Universal Messages and VPA's team
messages work.

Alternatively, explizitly address the message to yourself using the
message processor command.
m <your-race-number-here>
give apple to athena

Didn't know that. Good, if you like to send yourself a reminder message
- though with nowadays clients not neccessary.

Tried this and now the message isn't discarded but for some reason
Zeus does not read the message so no Zeus commands executed.

Not sure how this works. Are you saying to write the following in the
first line of the WinPlan Send Mess window:
m 2

if you wish to send a message to Lizards?

Great reference!

Yes. If you write these two lines
m 2
fire zeus cannon at gaia
into your Winplan message window, Lizards will receive a message containing
(-r0002)<<< Subspace Message >>>
FROM: The Lizard Alliance <2>
TO: The Lizard Alliance <2>
fire zeus cannon at gaia
and I think that's what Zeus is looking for.
