PZ7 was a great game. It had some twists that even made
some experienced players stop and think. Now that it is
over, we can ponder what we did right and what we did
wrong. I coruled in the country Big Rock. Our biggest
mistakes were making too much tech and not enough mils
and other war toys.

Back before PZ7 started, I played one of the PZ7 test
blitzes and posted a log of all game activity for over 10
updates. This was to allow a novice player to see all
of the steps needed to set up a productive and efficient
country.

Years ago when I was first learning to balance the economy
for maximum productivity, I used a spreadsheet. I made
one for this game to use as a teaching tool. (I know the
argument that if you need a calculator to play a game,
it is too cumbersome. Empire sometimes needs more
than a calculator!) I dusted off an old copy that had
suffered some bit-rot and made a projection of production
and cash flow based on the game parameters for the
first 20 updates. We then proceeded to play the game
and I modified this original with actuals. Some of the
changes were to correct oversights and calculation errors
and some were from adjustments in strategy as the game
unfolded. The spreadsheet containing the actual values
is out through 14 updates where civ and bar growth
finally were providing a positive cashflow.

I tried to attach these spreadsheets to this post. I can email
them to anyone requesting since I could not get Outlook
to post this with attachments. I am sure they have plenty of
errors so feel free to point them out to me. We can discuss
questions here on RGE or in email messages. I will
also provide them to the deity for his web page if he wants
them.

It was a great game. I usually down play tech, and don't mind
being as much as 15 points behind the leader. Of course too make it
work you need to have a quick early kill of some country.

Market has been left out of a long-term game for quite a while now.
Could be fun to include again, esp. for those who like to make tech
but don't have the time to invest for a large scale invasion.
