[PW] This is the Jubilife!

Keiko's eyes fluttered open, only to squeeze themselves shut again in the
presence of the harsh artificial lighting. She rolled over onto her
stomach, at which point she realized she was sleeping on some sort of couch
with a blanket wrapped around her. Pushing herself up on her elbows, she
looked around and realized she was in the lobby of a Pokemon Center. Upon
noticing their trainer was awake, Skyler the Swablu and Vampyra the Machoke
hopped up from where they sat and came up to her, the former taking up his
usual roost on her head.

"Huh?" Keiko asked aloud. "What happened?"

"Hey," Karl said, walking up to her. "The Kricketot put you to sleep, so I
kinda had to fight my way through them and bring you here. Vampyra carried
you, actually."

"Wow, you took all of them on yourself?" Keiko inquired as she sat up, the
blanket cascading off her back.

"Well, it was more of a team effort, you know?" Karl explained, averting his
gaze from her. "Pride and Cognizant and the others did most of the
fighting. I just, you know, told them what to do."

"Wow, you totally rescued me!" She hopped up and wrapped her arms around
Karl. "That's so cool! I mean, I didn't realize I was in any danger or
anything, but it's still cool!"

"Well, er, uh," Karl stammered, his face turning beet red. "I, you, uh..."

The sound of Nurse Joy clearing her throat caught Keiko's attention.

"What?" Keiko asked.

Nurse Joy gave her an expectant look.

"Seriously, what?" Keiko asked.

Nurse Joy rolled her eyes. "Your clothes!"

"What about them?" Keiko asked.

"You're not wearing any!" Nurse Joy exclaimed.

"I'm not?" Keiko asked.

"No," Nurse Joy answered.

Keiko looked down. Sure enough, she was as skyclad as Skyler. She let go
of Karl and scratched her head.

"That's funny," she said. "I'm pretty sure I put them on before I left the
tent."

"I assume your friend there took them off you before he brought you here,"
Nurse Joy explained.

"What? No! I didn't..." Karl started.

"That's real nice of you, Karl," Keiko said, "But given the situation, you
really didn't have to."

"You were like that when we left!" Karl exclaimed. "I swear!"

"Seriously?" Keiko replied. She put a hand on her chin in a pensive stance.
"I wonder what happened to my clothes, then?"

"<You may turn around now,>" buzzed the Vespiquen.

Combee turned around and saw Vespiquen wearing a long, denim skirt and a
black vest with a pink v-stripe on the chest. She spun about, displaying
the outfit to the two of them. Combee's right head was positively
entranced, the one on the left was absolutely enchanted, and the one on the
bottom didn't look impressed at all.

"<You are positively gorgeous, my queen!>" Combee's right head cooed. "<You
will no doubt steal the show at the Jubilife Contest!>"

"<It's the best diguise ever, your majesty!>" the left head swooned. "<No
one will ever suspect you of being a Pokemon!>"

"<You look like a bug in a dress,>" the bottom head stated frankly.

"<Well, two out of three ain't bad,>" Vespiquen replied, posing with on hand
behind her head. "<We'll just see what the judges think at the Contest.>"

"<There's no way you're going to pull this off,>" Combee's bottom head
continued. "<Seriously. You can't even speak English.>"

"Aye well knot bye thiz tee shirt, it izz ruined," Vespiquen said
matter-of-factly.

"<Your English is exquisite, my queen!>" Combee's right head gushed.

"<Please teach me how to speak as well as you, your majesty!>" Combee's left
head pleaded.

"<You have no idea what you just said, do you?>" Combee's bottom head noted.

"Aw, well," Keiko dismissed. "I'm sure they'll turn up."

"Aren't you the least bit concerned?" Nurse Joy asked.

"Yeah, I paid good money for that outfit," Keiko replied, resting her hands
behind her head.

"Not that!" Nurse Joy remarked. "Doesn't it bother you that you're suddenly
naked?"

"Well, it is kinda odd," Keiko admitted. "I mean, clothes don't just get up
and walk off on their own. But other than that, I don't see much reason
to..."

"Just put some clothes on!" Nurse Joy exclaimed.

"No need to get snippy," Keiko replied calmly. "All you had to do was ask."

"I'm sorry," Nurse Joy breathed. "Could you please put some clothes on?"

"You seem pretty high-strung," Keiko noted. "I mean, I've met plenty of
Nurse Joys, but you seem to be bothered by it the most so far. Copper
Island Nurse Joy loves the nude beach, though. Is it really the skin that
bothers you, or is it something..."

"Get dressed before I call the cops!" Nurse Joy threatened.

"Geez, ask a simple question," Keiko replied. Vampyra handed Keiko her belt
pack and she began fishing out garments. As she pulled her undergarments
on, she noticed a poster on the wall. "The Jubilife Contest is today!? Is
it too late to sign up?"

"No, registration should be open another hour," Nurse Joy answered more
cordially. "You should be able to make it if you hurry."

"Sweet!" Keiko exclaimed. "I've got just the dress!"

In a flash (no pun intended), Keiko had on a strapless evening gown.
Starting at her neck with a collar, it seemed composed almost entirely of a
blue sash that went across her chest and coiled around her body, fanning out
around her waist as a proper dress that reached down around her ankles.
Where the blue material failed to acheive adequate modesty, cottony-white
fluff gave the imagination a little more to work with. It even came with
elbow-length white gloves with fluff around the wrist and elbows.

"What do you think?" Keiko asked, pulling up the dress to reveal her white
pumps. "The gloves make my arms look like a poodle, but it totally goes
with Skyler on my head, don't you think?"

"Wow," Karl said, dumbfounded. "It looks... wow."

"I'm glad you like it," Keiko giggled with a beaming smile. She grabbed
Karl by the wrist and towed him out of the Pokemon Center. "C'mon! There
isn't a minute to waste!"

Lemiki slid from behind the fake plant, as if nothing had happened.
Kiddo shook her head, certain that her trainer would have to have better
sense than that.

"Contest, huh? I bet there's going to be a challenge there." She thumbed
her chin, then released Bear, her massive Zangoose.

"Hey Bear, what moves do you got?"

He spoke with a rather slavic sounding accent.
"Ehh...Zan..Zangoose..Zangoo...Zanzangoose." He flicked his ear and
scratched his neck with his massive claws. "Zangoose?"

-He says, Scratch, Quick Attack, Swords Dance, and Fury Cutter. And he
asked why do you want to know.- Kiddo patted her head.

"Eh. Those aren't very good for a contest..." She stood back and then
snapped her fingers. "It's a long shot, but I know Soofle's got some
good moves! Let's go sign her up for the Smart contest!"

Bear's eyes widened and he shook his head fearfully, which Lemi ignored.
She hopped onto his back and patted his head. "To the contest hall!"

His face fell. "Zaaannnn..." He loped out the door, her Abra clutched
onto her own shoulders.
