Ummm...so many to choose from...
Well, actually, if you can find Castlevania:Symphony of the Night, that
is a stellar side-scrolling action game (which has recently been
re-released for XBox Live Arcade and is an unlockable in Castlevania
X Chronicles for the PSP). I started The Misadventures of Tron Bonne
(a 3D actioner featuring a character from one of the MegaMan Legend
games) and it is great fun. The PSX was also home to a good number of
solid shmups like Einhander, Omega Boost, Raystorm, Thunderforce V
and others, and some more good side-scroller games like the original
Rayman and the obscure (but great) Silhouette Mirage. And if you don't
have The Final Fantasy Anthology and Final Fantasy Chronicles, you
really are missing out on classic RPGs (FFA has FF5 and FF6 (FF3 here
in the US) and FFC has FF4 (FF2 in the US) and Chrono Trigger).
In short, there are a lot of classic games for the PSX. If one
doesn't favor graphics over gameplay, they are in for a treat.
