I don't think anyone is implying it looks bad, it looks about the same
as some Xbox games I've really enjoyed. The beef is that it, as usual,
looks nothing like what Sony said it would last year.

uncoordinated and goofy, as if playing it is off timed when making moves.
Maybe the the PS3 is really a retro hardware kit, can't wait until the PS4

Well, I just wrote that off as being a goofy video playback error. But
yeah, it did look kind of jerky and stilted.

You seriously have to wonder what Sony was thinking at E3 2005. Did they
honestly think none of their CGI chicanery would come back to bite them in

yep because the E3 2005 video was one of several things
a.) completely pre-rendered
b.) realtime graphics that could only actually run at a few frames per
second on
GeForce 6800 Ultra SLI, or 7800 GTX, but sped up to 60fps for the video
thus PS3 could never pull it off at 60fps even if RSX was a highend
GPU, which it is not.

But what about this May 10, 2006 post from Blig Merk titled,
"Mobile Suit Gundam playable E3 demo looks *BETTER* than real-time demo
called pre-rendered by xflop fanbitches"? What is it that Blig Merk sees
that nobody else does?

yep, but this is the stuff sony were claiming was ingame footage and
which the PS3 is capale of producing.
developers are very quickly showing this to be lies, lies lies and
more lies. which is a shame, because the PS3 is slowly becoming a bit
of a joke, even though i'm sure it will still be a fine machine and
have some great games, sony are shooting themselves in the foot at
every possible opportunity.

yup, it doesnt look terrible, just miles off the "real gameplay
graphics!!!!" sony claimed from last year.
and as you say, it does look exceedingly sparse. i mean ok, it's in a
desert where there won't be much around really, but lack of onscreen
objects seems to be becoming a recurring trend with PS3 games we're
seeing.
