For those of you here who own an Xbox 360, do not own a Playstation 3
and have never owned a Playstation 2: If Microsoft somehow found a way
to allow people to play 10 Playstation 2 games, which ones would you
want them to be, specifically for your own pleasure rather than to be
popular enough to boost the Xbox 360's profile?
I don't know if I could pick 10 personally, but here goes, in no
particular order:
1) God of War
2) God of War II
3) Kingdom Hearts
4) Kingdom Hearts II
5) Metal Gear Solid 3
6) Final Fantasy X
7) SOCOM
 Ratchet & Clank
It would have been 10 if Okami and Bully weren't coming out for the
Wii and the Xbox 360. Okami was the game I most wanted to play from
the Playstation 2's library ever since it was first announced.
Bully would be number 3 behind God of War II (if I were sorting them)
since I heard God of War II was much better than God of War (would
still want to play the first game first, though, for context). >> Stay informed about: Which PS2 games would you be interested in? |

I would like to help out but I'm not allowed to give an objective opinion
about 360 games so it wouldn't be fair if I did PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii,
GameCube, N64, Gameboy Advanced, GameBoy, SNES, oh well you get the
point.....
Buy them all!
They are ALL the games for all the systems ever made because they are ALL

Ratchet and Clank would certainly be one for me. Also maybe a Spyro or
two.

I actually fit into this category as I skipped the PS2 for the
original Xbox, but I finally broke down and purchased one because Fire
Pro Wrestling Returns is coming out. Oh, and I got Front Mission 4

You know, the PS2 is only $130 new, and every game on your list is a
Greatest Hit selling for $20 new... Given that list, that's a good 4-6
months of gaming.

What's GOW2?
I never even considered games that were cross-platform between the
GameCube and Playstation 2 personally. Interesting viewpoint...
In any case, it wouldn't make sense to put PS2's RE4 on my list
because I got RE4 on the Wii which has the better graphcis of the
GameCube version with the content of the PS2 version. >> Stay informed about: Which PS2 games would you be interested in? |

I know... but if you bought a PS2, you could buy any game you wanted
and I wanted to limit the scenario to just 10 games or so. Sure, I
could have said "buy a PS2 and only 10 games" but that would have been
too easy to type LOL.
It's a pretty solid list... but honestly that's all I could think of
for PS2 games I truly want to play. MAYBE I put in the Resident Evil
Outbreak games... my friend let me try those once when he brought his
PS2 over and they were somewhat interesting but the load times were
HORRENDOUS... >> Stay informed about: Which PS2 games would you be interested in? |

I'm changing dup my mind.
I have to be eually critical about all games and systems not just 360 titles
and unit.
Oh wait. I am equally critical of all games and consoles.
Srooy.
Nevermind.
Carry on.
Nothing to see here.
Sorry for highjacking your post. I am just poking fun at terryfield and
others (in the past) that act as if I am only hard on the 360 and their
games.
If you have been around here long enough, or frequent other gaming groups
and forums, you would know I am overly opinionated on everything.
I just want the best value for my dollar and I want game companies to stop
their sell it now patch it later mentality.
The best 10 PS2 games?
That all depends on what type of games you are into.
I would say:
Shadw of Colossus
Final Fantasy X
ICO
GTA San Andreas
Metal Gear Solid 2
God of War 2
Resident Evil 4
Ratch and Clank: UYA
Jak and Daxter
Tekken 5 (Fighter fan myself nad I feel it's the best of the 3d fighters) >> Stay informed about: Which PS2 games would you be interested in? |

Given that, you should find the games pretty good. You travel around to
different Disney worlds, interacting with their characters. The scene in
the first game when you visit Peter Pan's world and learn to fly was
breathtaking to me. You get to fly around Big Ben.

ICO is easily one of the prettiest games on the PS2 - and it came out
fairly early in the PS2's lifecycle too. There's almost no dialog - in
fact your two characters don't even speak. Yet you can tell there's a
very strong bond between them. It is a short game - maybe 8-10 hours long
if you ignore the pretty scenary and just do what needs to be done. I
easily spent another 5-6 hours just playing around or taking in the
scenary. There's one part where you find a small grassy field with doves,
and the girl will run around chasing them. It's quite simple, but was
very beautiful to watch...

FFX definitely has pretty visuals, but in terms of story and characters,
it wasn't the best FF out there. The combat system and Sphere board were
interesting though. It's also one of the most linear FF's I've played.
There's very little extra exploration to do, and most of the minigames are
just aggravatingly hard or tedious (dodge 100 consecutive lightning
strikes?!? who on Square's design staff thought THAT was a fun idea?!?)
FFX-2 was pretty interesting, but many people complained about how
different it was (either that, or the 'dress up' aspect of game play
somehow threatened their masculinity...)

The first Jak and Daxter was great. Not too easy, but not too hard
either. Good variety of challenges and levels. Lots of areas to
explore. Jak2 & 3 were totally different. Ugh. I didn't bother with
Jak2 due to the complaints about having to drive everywhere, while being
shot at. I played Jak3, and good grief! It was a totally unlike the
first game.
Ratchet & Clank series were pretty good, though I felt 'Deadlocked' was
the weakest of the PS2 titles. Platformer with big guns, and a sense of
humor - that's a winning combo in my book.

Well, I'm interested in knowing which PS2 games Xbox owners would be
interested in playing. How, pray tell, would I ask Xbox owners in a PS
newsgroup if everyone followed those "rules?" >> Stay informed about: Which PS2 games would you be interested in? |
