Level of detail question - Hi all, Some time ago I remember reading about ways to set the level of detail shown in FS9 as the distance gets greater, i.e. the further away a mountain is, the lower the level of detail. Try as I may, I am unable to find that article again and..

Recently, I tried a short hop between Hong Kong (VHHH) and Guangzhou
(ZGGG). Unfortunately it seems, that the PMDG database does not
contain any rwy nor ILS information related to Guangzhou. What can I
do in this case? The FMC handbook does not offer to put in those
data manually (as far as I read it) and as I am just beginning to
explore the possibilities of this aircraft, I have no idea about the
data structure.
BTW, I'm quite aware about the fact, that ZGGG had been "moved"
about 18 miles and that the old Baiyang as it is in FS9 does not
exist anymore. Unfortunately there seems to be nothing available to
update FS9 (a wonderful work had been done for FS98 only).
Is there any hint, where I can find something about the data
structure and format of the used files? I think it would be nice to
extend the quite limited database if necessary.

You can manually enter the ILS freq in to Nav1 and Nav2 (same freq) then you
can activate the autoland feature in the 737. Runway and airport SID or
STARS has NEVER shown up on my FMC, ever. I installed airac, uninstall,
reinstalled, and finally gave up. I just plot my own path and enter the
waypoints into the FMC.

Thanks Danny, I'll give it a try - again.
Regarding the other answers, thanks to you guys too but I tried to
look into the forum as well before posting here and off course I
downloaded everything being available from the NAVDATA site.
I think I will fiddle a bit with the PMDG database during the
weekend. Weather here is promising bad...

Hi Axel
The PMDG sid/star data is on the pmdg website under downloads. It doe's not
have every airport though. I think that there is a tutorial in the manuals
to build your own sids/stars but then comes the problem of getting hold on
Chinese charts !!!

PS - If you havn't got the sid/star tutorial manual that is also availble
for d/l at the same location.
The SID/STAR d/l also has a readme which explains better
