I still check every day, but I am not one for empty chatter. I too worry
about Miracle, but also know that she needs to save all her energy for what
she is going through. Have hope.
As a side note, I finally found something that drew me away from Tribes, and
it's not even a shooter. I am all wrapped up in Second Life now. My wife
and I both. It is the only game that we have been able to play together and
enjoy thoroughly. Play is a misnomer. It is a second life. I used to
sleep, now I just go to my second life. :^) I never would have thought it
possible for me to get involved in something like this, but it happened. I
am busy building a beach house on our rented beach front property. I am
learning to make my own textures to do it (Go Gimpshop). The other night we
went to a cafe venue (yes in game) that hosts an open mic night where people
live stream their own original performances into the game. Their avatars go
up on stage, don a guitar, and performed 20 minute sets. It's like real
life, only not... What you want to do or be in the game is limited only by
your imagination. And the kicker, it has an economy in game, and the game
is very much centered around commerce, of all types, from real estate to
prostitution, all kinds of goods and services. Even real world businesses
have in game presence and advertising. And the game currency, Lindens, has
a real world cash value. My daughter actually makes a nice second income
for her family by designing and selling women's clothing in game. She was
recently interviewed as part of an article that was published in the Wall
Street Journal. There are even a few people who make their entire living
from this game. A basic account is entirely free, though to own land you
have to subscribe. Subscription also means a weekly allowance of Lindens,
which if you subscribe a year up front means you get all that back. If you
happen to pop in to check it out, shoot Kenbro Utu an IM. :^)
Quixote <-- maybe it's the old age.
