Hey
I would be pretty proud of that kid if he was mine.
Still playing Q3, tried Q4, not too impressed, might try Crysis, as
the new rig seems to be holding up.
Now if we could get your kid to play Q3, maybe I could kick his **s!

Hey old timer, good to hear from you. I almost never watch golf for
more than two seconds at a time so it was rather fortuitous that I
caught your son's name when I channel surfed my way to the President's Cup.
Again congratulations on his success.
I just put together a new system to deal with Crysis. Unfortunately, I
guess I'm still an AMD fanboy and went with an X2 CPU rather than opting
for the new fast Intel chips. I like my 8800 GTS 512 and my 4 Gigs of
RAM though. I think the kind of sheer processing power that's available
these days makes groups like agqx obsolete. I'm not looking for tweaks
and fixes and add-ons to squeeze out precious extra fps (OK, Crysis
completely disproves my point, but every other game I have is running at
maxed out settings and maxed out resolution).
I imagine even EvillBill must have a kick-ass machine these days:-)

*snort* Mine's a few years old now. It needs replacing <g> Sempron, 1Gig
DDR, Geforce 6200 256meg. It gives me the obligatory 85+ FPS in Q3 though

Portal was the most entertaining new game I've played in a long
while....They need to take it from the lab on into the world now.
Great concept for single player.

Thx...like I said it was fun and amazing that stuff lives as long as
it does. He is a great guy and I am proud of both him and his
accomplishments.
I broke down and gots a new rig, too...
Vista Ultimate 64bit (XP Pro dual boot)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3 GHz oced to 3.3
ASUS StrikerExtreme
4 gigs ram
dual 160 sata WDD drives @ 10000
dual LG L246WP Digital Flatron 24" widescreens
dual Lite-On DVDRW's
and....drum roll...dual 8800 GTX 768's (in SLI mode when gaming,
naturally)
now if Nvidia can ever deliver drivers that can keep up wid their
hardware...all would be right wid da world.
DX10 is a hoot...tho the code is not nearly realized yet. But it does
make Crysis and Bioshock pretty.
3D Mark06 = 15260 (no OC)
CRYSIS is my bitch! hehehe...
I agree about tweaks...who needs em? I'm hittin AVG 37fps MAX 60fps in
Crysis benchmark map Island.
I know I'm bragging but who cares? )))
Good to hear from all ya'll again. I hope to cya on the servers.
I lost my disk, tho. Can ya spare an old man a key?
