Archived from groups: rec>games>frp>dnd (more info?)

A PC, say level 11, has 80 HP's. 22 of the 80 HP's are due to CON bonus.

This PC then becomes a vampire (or lich, or any other higher undead). What
is the new HPs of the Undead PC?

What became of the CON bonus (undead don't have constitutions, remember)?

Does the PC now have Max 58 HP, or max 80 HP, or something altogether
different? And why?

Thanks

TIm

the PC's hit dice changes to d12 and (s)he loses CON bonus. Thus
averaging hit points to something around 66 - 70 (average on a d12
should fall in the 6 - 7 range)

Being a PC he has max for 1st level so it would be an average of 77.

If you are using rolls you would have him reroll all his hitpoints -
unless he's got levels of barbarian.

I use 1/2 hd round up for PCs so HP would be 82 in my campaign.

though technically, if the pc became a vampire, in most campaigns (like
mine), that is grounds for the character no longer being a pc and
shifting to DM control, thus the full hp for 1st level is not a given.

Maybe you mean 72.
That's 12 from first level and 60 from levels 2-11.

No I don't. The average of 1d12 is 6.5 thus 10x that is 65 +12 from
first level is 77.
