Getting a bad headache from the annoying sounds of bees, electric gates
(!), etc..

Have tried replacing the sound files with copies for which I have lowered
the decibal level to almost zero, but the sounds still show up loud and
clear in the worlds, Even if I make a fresh world and inject a new cob into
it.

I'm wondering now if I should replace the embedded sounds for the cobs via
bobBob. Only problem is I can't find the blasted bees or the Electric gate
using BobCob. Any suggestions? *cries*

This has me really puzzled. I even used the scriptorium and BobCob and
recreated Mark's Electric Gate cob but used my own quiet sound files, but
that won't even inject into the world. (Man am I rusty!)

Anyone want to look it over for me and tell me where I went wrong, please?
If so I'll post it to ABGC...

(thinks that is an impudent question, and obviously the questioner hasn't
really thought about it, but, oh, well...) =)

Um well you see I like a lot of the sounds in the game. I especially like
the Norn Bibble. Sooo, I just want to get rid of the obnoxious sounds. And
it bothers me that I used to be able to do that with C2, but now it seems
I can no longer. =(

So far so good, thanks... =)

As usual I'm wishing for a few *minor* changes for some of the things, for
example your Egg Injector. I used to have the CDN Egg Maker, but in a hdd
crash I lost everything from there, including my membership info and all
the goodies. All I have left is a ring-bound printed copy of the CHAOS
script manual. I really miss being able to easily combine the genomes and
inject the results directly into the hatchery or at least create egg files
that I can manually transfer to the folder.

Ummm... Are you very busy these days chris? ;`)

I have tried to learn to use tcl-tk a bit and was wondering if it would be
helpful in creating some of the utilities I'd like to have for C1 and
2...

I suppose that since Mal is pretty cognisant with Tcl-tk, I should ask
him.. lol (I'm rambling... sorry) =}

Always Smile I've been playing around with developing on the Nintendo DS
lately:

http://www.double.co.nz/nintendo_ds

What's wrong with the Egg Injector? Does it not work anymore? I can
certainly fix it if its useful.

I know a bit about tcl. I wrote the tcl plug-in for the Massive
computer program (http://www.massivesoftware.com) and learnt a bit
about it doing that. It depends if the Win32 port of TCL can access the
low level stuff required to talk to the C1/C2/C3 games. I think someone
did a DLL that hid all the gory details - I'm sure tcl could talk to
that.

Chris.

Coolies! Will check that out.

Its working fine, Chris, thanks! And it is still useful. I just wanted
something that would make actual *.egg files to put in the hatchery,
rather than in the incubator room. I finally found the CL Egg Maker. It
gives the option to combine two genomes,as well.

But I'd also like to know how to change the sound files (or exchange them
for the ones I want them to use) for certain COBs/Agents that are
hardwired(?) into C2 --like Mark's Electric Gates.

Ummm... any idea what that DLL calls itself? or where to find it? =`D
