Dear Diary,
I am in love -- head over heels over ass in love. I have not had a
great life thus far, but all is good now. But let me tell you a
little bit of history...
After Momma and Grandmomma died in a freak accident (Daddy said it was
the wrath of the Mouse Goddess), Daddy moved me and my brothers, David
and Tommy, into a house on the far side of town. It started out as a
sort of group home and Daddy said that the "undesirables" were placed
there when the Mouse Goddess had forsaken them. It all sounded scary
to me, but then I was 10 years old...what did I know?
Along with the four of us, there was a set of twins named Jodi and
Jason Larson, and a married couple named Picaso. His name was Matthew
and I forgot her name. She was NOT nice to us kids so I never
bothered to know her. It doesn't matter anyway because as soon as she
got herself knocked up, they moved out.
For those of us left, we settled into a happy if somewhat strange
family existence. Daddy worked hard, just like he always did, and
Jodi got a job too. Even David got an after school job to help out
around the house. Jodi (I began to think of her as "Aunt Jodi") took
care of me and little Tommy, and even taught Tommy to walk. David
helped out too, teaching Tommy words and nursery rhymes. Daddy potty
trained him.
And Jodi was always nice to me. She said she understood what it was
to be a little girl with no mommy and she talked to me about girl
stuff all the time. Uncle Jason was the cook and maid around the
house. He was always pretty quiet, but he could cook a mean salmon
and he kept everything clean around the house. Other than that, he
spent all his time looking through the telescope or talking to the
ants. He was always funny at the dinner table and quick to help out
with our homework, but he always seemed aloof.
Life progressed day by day and we all settled into our lives in the
home. Then one day, I noticed that Daddy and Aunt Jodi were spending
an inordinate amount of time together and that they never went with us
when Uncle Jason took us to the park. I was growing up too, and more
aware of things at home. David was just a year away from graduating
and he was scanning the papers everyday for the opening of that new
apartment complex nearby. Tommy started school and within one year,
he was already making straight A's. And "Uncle Jason" was looking
hot.
I guess, in retrospect, it was all sort of weird and wrong on several
levels, but when Uncle Jason won that trip to Twikki Island and
invited me to go with him, I was elated. I am also a little surprised
that Daddy let me go, but he was so wrapped up in Aunt Jodi that I
don't think he gave it much thought. After all, I was just 15 and
Jason was 25.
So off to Twikki Island we went. We stayed at the Double Palms Hotel
and everything was wonderful! As soon as we arrived, Jason changed.
He seemed to come out of his shell and he was outgoing, exhuberant and
loads of fun to be with! We had a blast. The whole first day, we
walked all over the island, visiting all the local spots. We toured a
pirate ship, took a helicopter ride, and took a tour in a glass bottom
boat. At the end of the day, Jason said we should eat in our room and
he ordered Lobster Thermidor from Room Service. I was exhausted after
the day on the island and relaxed with Jason on the bed to watch
movies.
As the evening wore on, we ended up cuddling on the bed and Jason
kissed me! Oh my goodness, he is so sweet. We curled up together and
actually went to sleep like that.
The next morning, we took another tour and relaxed in some of the
natural hot springs around the island. Jason took me shopping and we
bought some new clothes. Then we ate Pineapple Surprise and watched a
fire dancer. When we were walking, Jason held my hand. I swear, my
whole arm tingled! And when we sat by the ocean that second night, he
lit a fire on the beach and we watched the waves. He put his arm
around me and we kissed a bunch. We even made out! Then, he looked
at me and I thought my heart would stop. He spoke in a soft, deep
voice right near my ear and said, "We ought to go back to our room".
The way he said "our room" made me weak.
We got up and headed back across the island toward the Double Palms. I
was so nervous I could barely walk up the stairs to our room on the
second floor. When we got into the room, I didn't know exactly what
to do, but Jason did. He kissed me tenderly and the hugged me very
romantically. We even began to slow dance a little, even without any
music. Eventually, we made our way to the bed and ... well... yeah.
We did. And the next morning, we did again.
And then later that afternoon, in the sauna, we did it again. And in
the hammock by the dance floor. Once we started, it was like magic
and we just couldn't stop.
On the last night of our vacation, Jason took me back to the beach and
lit another fire. We sat there watching the waves, talking, and
holding hands. And he proposed to me! He really, really asked me to
marry him. Of course, I said yes! And we got the fire dancer to
marry us right there on the spot. Jason said that they could do that
on the islands.
I can't believe it! I'm a married woman now! We got back home
earlier today and we haven't told Daddy yet, but I think we
better...because I'm feeling nauseaus...
And Aunt Jodi is sporting a brand new ring that she didn't have when
we left. Looks like Daddy has some news too. >> Stay informed about: An Ottomas Tale |

Ah! One of the first pleasant Ottomas story I think I've ever read!
And I don't blame you a bit for getting rid of Mom and Grandma
immediately. <g>

Actually, once you ditch Grandma <shudder> and avoid those hideous
twins that Mom is destined to have, then the Ottomas family is not so
bad. Sharla is sweet, Dad works hard, David is a good kid and Tommy
is pretty cute.
And with InTeen in play, Sharla and Jason Larson (another one I've
never played much) have 2 bolts for each other and are destined for a
great life! I can't wait to see the baby...I'm sort of expecting
"ugly" though. Sharla's face is thin and angular and Jason's is long
and horsey.

*LOL* Loved the story, that was a lot of fun to read. Maybe I should
stop avoiding the Ottomas family...
I didn't keep up with them after I the first, and only, time that I
played them and when she had the twins ... when I looked into the
family tree, it said their father was this stray neighborhood dog!!!!
*LMFAO* I did download a patch later that was to clear up that, eh,
glitch, but I haven't played the family since!
Looking forward to more Dear Diary from your Sharla. *G* >> Stay informed about: An Ottomas Tale |
