The risks? That you're going to get your ass kicked coming-out of the sewer
by the first crab you meet?
<grin>
I played Oblivion without OOO and hated the game. I played it with OOO and
found it to be 'almost' as good as Morrowind.
The biggest thing OOO does is it takes a lot of the scaling to your level
away. Your character will get it's ass kicked - repeatedly. Places that in
'vanilla' Oblivion were safe because of the leveling system are not safe any
longer. OOO also adds a lot of new 'high-end' or very unique gear in order
to help the character deal with the greater difficulty.
I personally cannot imagine playing Oblivion without OOO. It saved what to
me had become a very dull, dull game.
