hi. I'm playing ofp for a long time but never bothered about those
orienteering numbers which leader gives to his group (or individuals)
and aren't the map coords. Until recently. I started to wonder what do
they mean and asked some ppl playing ofp over the internet but no1 knew
the answer. So I tried to figure them out by giving commands to AI and
succeeded to unreveal their meaning.
So if anyone else ever wondered about those numbers and couldnt
decypher them, here is what they mean.
General meaning:
#, GO TO XX Y
XX=direction in degrees without the last digit (00 to 35)
Y=distance from current position in meters, without last digit
Few commands for example:
COMMAND: "2, MOVE TO 04 1"
MEANING: 2, Move 10 meters North-East;
or literally:
2, Move to 040 degrees (The '04' part. On compass it's about
North-East, nevermind the 5 degrees difference) 10 meters(its the '1'
part) FROM YOUR CURRENT POSITION
or
COMMAND: "2, GO TO 27 6"
MEANING: 2, go to 270 degrees (West), about 60 meters from your pos
or
COMMAND: "2, GO TO 00 0"
MEANING: 2, go to 000 degrees (North), less than 10 meters from your
pos (lazy ass AI wont move on that order) >> Stay informed about: Orienteering numbers in short distances |
