Hello!

Anyone done that quest given by a
mage's guild member in Chedynhal
in which you should go collect this
guy's frozen tears?

I found four of them but when I went
back the lady talked to me as if I had
not completed the quest, so I guess there
must be more to find? (although she said
that she would pay a handsome amount for
each of them, so I though I didn't need to
find them all)

Anyone can tell me how many there are in
total, and whether the rest are kinda hidden
somewhere?

Thank you in advance,

Andy

There is 5. I found 4 around the rock, and one almost on top of it.

Im not sure, but I think the ones around the rock, spawn, as soon as you
take one, another one spawn, but not sure though.

There are 5 around the frozen guy. Three are easy to find,
one north and one south of the ice pile and the third is due
east of the pile by the east end of the suspended tree that runs
east west.

It's most likely that you are missing one of the remaing two.
One is between the dark rocks on the NW edge of the entire ice pile,
right up against the base of the pile by the SW edge of the northern
most rock. The last one is on the pile itself by the frozen knight.

In general that quest just wasn't worth the reward. I get more loot
on two bandit corpses at level 18. Smile

There are 5 tears to collect and you will be told when you have the last one.
I found the easiest way was to jump up on top of the ice block and scan the
ground around it from up on high. It made them stand out really well.

So you are doing the quests only for good loot? How about doing a quest for
a good story? I actually liked this particular Quest, also the quest where
you entered the painting to rescue the painter was a nice story as well.

The "good story" for that quest is "Do this and you'll get a good reward."
When I'm promised a reward I'd really like to get a decent one. Smile

In general I don't do quests for reward (other than faction rewards, they are
about power Smile, it's all about motivation.
1) I'll help someone I feel deserves to be helped
2) I'll help someone if the mission itself is a challenge to my abilities
3) I'll help if the situation intrigues me

Some quests I just turn down because the task or the supplicant isn't worthy.
I'm not a Paladin in a shiny suit who cheerfully gets every kitten out of every
tree.

I've made up some of my own "quests" too. Certain people just need to die and
it just won't do if I'm ever actually caught killing someone.

I did the quest about the corrupt castle guard; at one point I walked close to
him in town and he insulted me. After getting him put in jail I punched a guard
just so I could get tossed in the same jail so I could break out, get my gear,
kill him, put my gear back in the evidence chests then returned to my cell to
serve my time.

And the guard involved in killing an NPC who deserved better also met an
untimely end. It really doesn't pay for random NPCs to annoy the Listener for
the Dark Brotherhood; I'm rather good at my job. Smile
