Why?

Oblivion is a single-player game, so why *can't* you simply close or
physically 'turn off' your network connection(s), broadband router or
cable modem? (*) Once you're disconnected from the internet you won't
need a firewall or anti-virus protection, and as long as your system
isn't already infected, running without your AV app won't be a problem.
I do that all the time on my older PC when games like Oblivion push it
to its limits.

FWIW, Morrowind crashed *frequently* but Oblivion almost never does.

(*) Some of the cheaper wired routers make it difficult or impossible to
isolate your system from the internet, in which case it may be necessary
to install a switch.

What's up with Oblivion??? - Now pushed back to 3/20/06? I guess I shouldn't cry about not getting my 360 until January, since this game was the selling point for the 360 for me ( though I do have Kameo and PDZ collecting dust at the house right now).
