To be sure. And now I'm being 'condemned' for finally giving the games I
reviled (Ob & WoW) a fair shake (& a fair shake it was!).

We'd be surprised how many so-called professional critics don't do even half
their job before forming an opinion. Game critics are the worst. My opinion
of Ob or Wow was perhaps more objective & correct than 90% of the fanboys
out there, before I'd even played them! Funny that, ey? Wink

FWIW, G3 is playable as a dedicated mage once you get the mana regen skill,
which can be done by mid teens I believe (i.e. early part of the game).

A bizarre statement, since you actually played WoW and your description
of it did not in any way resemble the way you described it in rants
prior to that experience.

Since I started playing WoW I find it hard to get enthralled by single-
player games. Roll on World of Elder Scrolls, I say. It could be a
winner.

Isn't that the perennial rumor? Ever since Bethesda got the Fallout
license, they've also been hinting at work on an MMO. I don't know if they
have the support structure to keep a persistent game world running though.

Disregard this rule if the meat in the nuggets is not actually chicken.

See Nos, that's your spin and it isn't working. I know you played
them. But you are using Oblivion as your test case for not playing
games before offering an opinion. You were right after all. Oblivion
was exactly what you expected it to be. So why bother playing them
first? You proved your own point, right? Well, no. You didn't. You
went into Oblivion knowing full well what you were going to get out of
it. You *knew* it was a 'soulless sandbox' before you even went to
your favorite torrent search engine to find it. And you *knew* you did
not like this kind of game. And not surprisingly, you didn't like it.
Why? Because it was a soulless sandbox. Smile

Or to put it more simply... well, duh! <g>

>of Ob or Wow was perhaps more objective & correct than 90% of the fanboys

I don't recall your opinion of WoW after actually playing it being
quite as negative (I am not saying you liked it ) nor do I recall your
opinion of Lord of the Rings being quite so positive after playing
that one. Also, this is the second time you brought up objectivity.
Objectivity only enters into the equation when personal feelings
don't. No one here believes that your personal feelings aren't a huge
factor so your above statement doesn't make much sense.

Witcher IMO. Of course Oblivion is probably more bang for the buck, huge
game world and a lot of downloadable content. But Witcher has a better
story and is more engaging.
