Hi,

Does anyone here know if the Ladder-only runeword Oath is worth something
in the non-Ladder environment?

I.e., did anyone here (try to) trade an Oath Balrog Blade, or an Oath
Scourge in the non-Ladder environment after the last Ladder reset? If so,
what did people offer for it/what did you get for it?

Regards,

Patrick.

That sounds good, glad you got your PC, but can you check again the
value in fg of a SCNL SOJ. I'd be surprised if it was 40fg. Still it
sounds worth it.

Well, the d2jsp priceguide still lists an SOJ as ~40fg.

The funny/strange thing is, an on-ladder SOJ is 2 Ists, and that translate
to roughly 20fg.

Weird. Browsed through the NL forum, and found a few trades. One guy
offering his legit self-found soj for 26fg Fast Trade. So I'm not really
sure what they go for.

While browsing the NL forum I did find another few interesting tidbits: it
seems 35FCR Spirits in good Paladin shields (40+res-all) are also quite
valuable. I saw one with 42 res-all go for about 5 or 6 SOJs. Interesting.
Perhaps I should skip a Monarch now, and start rerolling Spirit in one of
my nice Pally shields. Wink (Though I did find a Superior 5 ED Monarch
yesterday, from an armor rack in one of the side-room at the Countess
level). So much to do, so little time/runes/etc. Wink

Patrick.

I can't help you with prices other than to say that a certain off-ladder
Frenzy barb I know who has an ethereal Oath Scourge paired with a Stormlash
wouldn't trade it for the world.

Oath is an awesome Runeword for the price of the runes. Unfortunately it's
getting the item to make it in that's the hard part for me. Eth 4 OS
Scourge's seem particularly rare.

Well, I have 2 of these, I think. And I also have quite a supply of those
2-handers which all get 4 sockets from Larzuk (Balrog Blades, Highland
Blades, Champion Swords), all of them ethereal. And to top that off, I
think I also have at least 2 or 3 ethereal Cryptic Swords, one even
superior, which also get 4 sockets from Larzuk.

The big question is: is it worth it to back 4 sockets in all of 'em, put
Oath in, and try to trade 'em off on NL when/if the Ladder is reset.

I did finally get a PC of an Oath weapon on the B.Net forum, and there
they said an average Oath weapon on SC Europe NL would fetch around an
SOJ. That would translate to approximately 40 d2jsp fg. That same Mal
would fetch around 3fg as a single rune, the Pul 1 fg, so it looks like a
profitable way to move Ladder runes to NL...

Regards,

Patrick.

I'd like to know how many HEL runes you've burned through. Must be a
lot. Can I ask how much you generally pay for them? As we discussed
recently, I need to start getting in on the Spirit / Insight rerolling
action.

(Heh, all this work and in the next patch Blizzard will make all
runewords available off lader).

Indeed it does. All I did when the reset was announced was ask my NL friends
what they wanted, then spent the couple days finding the items and
re-rolling to get good stats on the runewords.

Might have to look at this d2jsp (never heard of it other than your posts).
That's if there's a USW 'chapter'.

Cheers,

I've been busy rerolling runewords for several months. The results of that
have been about 5+ 35FCR Spirit Monarchs, about 8 eth elite Polearms (1 x
Eth GP, 2 x Eth Thresher, rest eth CV) with a lvl17/nice ed Insights in, a
few lower polearms with semi-nice Insights in.

Yesterday I collected all my 5 socket eth elite polearms (4, 3 x eth
Thresher, 1 x eth CA) and started putting Obediences in. I'm, however, out
of Eths and Hels and Kos to finish this. Wink I also made my first ever Oath
Scourge, which turned out pretty ok. From the top off my head, nice ed
(~346%), low (10) magic absorb, resulting in a 1-hander doing like 12-512
damage. Looks very nice. I think the next one I'll make Oath in will be an
eth Highland Blade. Reason: the lvl req of a Highland Blade is clvl48, a
Mal is 49, meaning the resulting Oath will be a lvl49 weapon: good for
MLD, and therefore probably worth quite a _lot_ on NL. And it not, it'll
still be a very nice one-hander.

Next up will be 3 eth Cryptic Swords, one with 7%ED, two eth Balrog
Blades, and perhaps more stuff. This also means I'll start converting some
of my Ists into Mal+Um+Pul (yes, this is a valid trade on SC Eur Ladder,
while I know it isn't on the screwed up economies of the US servers).

>Might have to look at this d2jsp (never heard of it other than your posts).
>That's if there's a USW 'chapter'.

You'll find it to be a _very_ active collection of forums. While I don't
like the premise (d2jsp is a javascript botting toolset if I understand
things correctly; I'm not dreaming of using it), the forums at that site
are amongst the most active around. And, the virtual currency there is
perhaps the most 'safe' way to convert NL items, via fg, to new-Ladder
goodies.

Regards,

Patrick.

I have no idea of the exact numbers, but it must now be near 100 +/- 25.

I get them from differing sources: I found a few myself, and/or cubed up
some overcomplete Dols to Hels. I also make it a habit to trade all runes
from Io until Fal for Hels. I usually do this in-game, and there I
regularly offer and get a Hel for an Io on a 1:1 basis.

For the runes above that, I usually ask an add (i.e. some smaller runes,
like the ingredients for Spirit or Insight), or more Hels than runes. So
for for instance 3 Hels I'll give 2 Lums. The biggest problem with this is
usually making clear the other party (which is usually not too good in the
English language) what it exactly is you want and offer. Wink

I also purchased a rather large pack of Hels on d2jsp several months ago,
I don't know the exact price again, but I thought I paid between 0.35-0.5
fg per Hel.

I'm afraid the market for Hels will be even tougher in the coming weeks,
because everybody is probably preparing for the next Ladder so that means
an lot of rerolling of runewords is going to happen...

>(Heh, all this work and in the next patch Blizzard will make all
>runewords available off lader).

That'd be a hoot indeed. Wink Then again, no harm done either...

Regards,

Patrick.

Yeah, I've heard of it but just never checked it out. It's on my list of

The rerolling of Insights/Spirits was a sort of hobby for me, but also to
improve my characters (I have one sorc who needed a 35FCR Spirit to get to
105FCR total) and after that I just continued filling the nicest Monarchs
I could find.

The making of Obediences/Oaths is something new, but also something
useful; I still have a WW Barb who's stuck (well, not really, I just
stopped playing him) in Act IV Hell. He has to do Diablo, and then Act V.
Not sure what I'll stick on him; perhaps two of those big ethereal swords
with Oath would be nice and Barb-like. I didn't find a 2nd 4 socket
ethereal Scourge, I did find a plain ethereal Scourge, so I hope the cube
will be good to me. Wink

Anyway, it's a nice way to get rid of the lots and lots of mid runes
(Puls-Ums-Mals-Ists) I have collected lately.
