When I'm installing Open for Business, I get to about 97% installed and then
it says:

F:\TSBIN\ijlis.dll can not be accessed from the media. I've tried about
everything. This did not happen when I installed on a previous hard drive.
I replaced the dead hard drive with a new one. All other expansion packs
installed without problems.

Note: I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro and everything else. Only about
half of my backups on my computer worked.

Thanks.

Did you try cleaning the disk? Have a look at this page:

http://tg.sims2techguide.net/guide.php?g=9

Stopping at the same place is often due to a smudge or small imperfection on
the disk. I'm not saying this is the case with yours but it's an easy thing
to check out first.

Best wishes

Thanks for the quick answer. I cleaned both the disk and drive. But I
wonder if it wore out in that spot because I had it in the drive to play the
game. It's just that file.

You could, then, try a manual install - the instructions are on the EA Games
site (not the Sims Exchange site) under technical support. If you can't
find the url, there's a direct link from the Exchange site via the icon on
the bottom of every page. I'd also check out uninstalling and cleaning the
registry (info is in the same place) - sometimes that can cause problems
though you don't usually get that error.

Best wishes

Thank you so much. I'll try that. I did try to see if I could copy that
single file "anywhere" and what I got was "Cyclic redundancy error." But if
I recall, the first time (before my HD failure) I installed OFB I had to use
some type of manual install. You'd think I'd remember just a few months ago
but I don't.
