Even if the repairs are not counted, Microsoft does not always repair
the unit. It's been about 50/50 for people I know whether they get
their original or if they get a new unit. Additionally, many people
use the warranties from the retailer, in which case the retailer
absorbs the loss and grabs another unit off the shelf. More inflated
numbers for Microsoft.

As if your made up experience has anything to do with reality. There
are 100s of reports of recent repairs getting extra heatsinks put
inside the unit, matching new units on retail shelves now.

Ergo- problem solved.

when refurbished/repaired. - Microsoft wont count these as new sales.
Furthermore, retailer warranties are not as common as you have us
beleive, and you cannot substantiate the ludicrous 3 million machines

I always wonder, but can never find a straight answer, whether all the
replacement 360s sent out to fix RRoD failures are counted towards
that 10.51 million. I know most of they time they just slap a fix on
the returns and cycle them out as refurbs, but you gotta figure some
of them were trashed beyond repair. With a 30% failure rate, couldn't
the actual 360 install base be closer to 7 million?

You can't compare a console that's cheaper then the others. Half that of
the PS3. Besides it's not going to hold up over time. It's a Gimmick
Console. I have no interest in buying one at this time. I personally think
it's way over priced for what it is, and really not much in the way of good
games for it yet. I completely HATE the online service that system has.
It's the worst one out there. I can only hope in the end it starts to fail.
I don't want to see all the next generation consoles dumb down to Nintendo
level.
