Sorry I know its off topic...
However, over on the XBOX forums, it seems the Nintendo has an almost
uncanny amount of support from us Xbox & 360 owners...
There are only 150 or so replies, but with the exception of 1 or 2, mos
people are talking about picking one up...

What do you guys here think? I for one will be getting it on Launch Day -
love my DS Smile

Good.

Nintendo have been and are still responsible for some of the best games
around, Zelda, Mario etc and seem to be the company mainly responsible for
new innovations like the revolution controller and the DS.

I hope they get loads of support and sell a bucketload, I for one will buy
on as soon as I can

I have no plans to pick up the Revolution at launch. I don't believe
the 3rd party support will be sufficient and I'm not as interested in
Mario and Zelda as I used to be. If the controller offers an
interesting gaming experience, I may pick one up as an impulse buy
when it hits $150 or so.

I don't know, it has been over three years since I played my N64, with PD,
Zelda - Ocarina Of Time, and Goldeneye (my favorite shooter of all time).
But When I got the 64, Zelda was the main reason (as was the NES, and Super
NES), and I think that series has burned out now. I don't know what the
games will be like, and how many will be available. Besides, the next Zelda
(Twilight Princess) is late as hell (disappopinting many fans big time!),
and that release is supposed to be March or April (?), and it is for the GC,
not the Revolution.

If Nintendo has a launch of the amount of games like with the 360, then it
wouldn't work for me. I do think Nintendo provided the kind of games I like
(RPGs especially), but how many times can the same storyline be written
again and again. I like shooters and racers (somewhat), but power and
graphics make them work the best, and I don't see the Revolution providing
that. That said, paying that much for a console that won't cut it in today's
gaming, isn't worth it IMHO.

I may get one in the way Imperium stated; maybe by then there will be plenty
of quality games (both in looks and storyline) that may be appealing, and
the price will be cheaper. If the game makers start making a good deal of
RPGs for the 360 (can't wait for Oblivion), then the Revolution doesn't
stand a chance of my money.

sure it is. its more powerful than the GC plus evolved the controlling
system, as well as allowing all the back catalogue of GC games to run
with all the retro games available for download.

IMO, it isn't "next-gen" in terms of power, but it *is* in terms of new ways
of playing games. Also IMO, the 360 isn't next-gen either.

How come I, a fully grown, mature, 25 year old, enjoys the DS immensely? I
am not alone, every games reviewer on the main gaming sites (all adults)
rave about the machine...I think you are in the minority with your thoughts.

Some would say anyone that spends their time playing games consoles are
"kids", just that some are older than others!

I'll only be getting it for the "revolutionary controller" type games,
not any of the retro stuff, and then only if they are more involving
than the gimmicky eyetoy (but great for 15 minutes) games.

E3 will no doubt demonstrate what we can expect.
