Just how do I use a blowgun? Does it shoot darts or some other missiles?

Thanks
Howie

Wield the blowgun, and make sure you have needles in your inventory.
Then use 'f'ire to shoot them at your intended target.

Incidentally, darts are throwing weapons. You don't need an additional
item to use them properly.

They sure should! I can't even think of a way to fire more than one at
once by accident; this one's a puzzler!

I would suggest Stone Arrow, Iron Bolt and Lehudib's Crystal Spear Smile

While not exactly "ranged weapons" per se, they raise your Conjuration
& Earth magic skills which are also what you need to cast Tomb of
Doroklohe -- which is simply an awesome spell, if you can cast it
reliably.

They become rather better with the use of a hand crossbow, though. Plus,
it trains Crossbows (which is a much more useful skill than, say, Darts).

A good signature is a concise and original summary of personality. This
is not a good signature.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.
As a newbie, in playing a HE Crusader, which ranged weapons are worth
using/training?

I would have loved TI (I assume you mean the 99/4a) too, 'cept that we
didn't have one. My best friend's dad was our small town's science
teacher, so SHE was the one that got to play Hunt the Wumpus. I was SO
jealous.

(Sorry, couldn't resist. And yes, I had to Google to recall that old
beast's designation.)

Well, I'm sorry to hit you with more questions: I've no idea what any of
those 3 are. Are they spells or objuects?
I'm really new at Crawl but loving ti.

Unless you happen to be at a pub and left your crossbow at home...
