What does the [target=target] bit do?

My macro covers a few more cases:
/cleartarget
/tar disobedient
/stopmacro [notarget]
/say Boot to the head!
/use Booterang

This can be spammed and you'll only throw the booterang if you have a lazy
peon on the hook.

I ended up commenting out the /say, because targeting distance is way more
than booterang distance. I seem to remember somewhere a command to
temporary alter the targeting range limit, but I've never been able to find
it again. *

It means cast at the current target. In this case it's redundant and you
can leave it out entirely. I'm also not sure about /cast - I think it has
to be /use - isn't throwing a use effect, and not a spell? *

/cast and /use seem to be interchangeable. I have a macro set up for
my mounts that looks like this:

/cast [flyable,nomounted,nomodifier] Swift Red Windrider;
[nomounted,nomodifier] Summon Dreadsteed
/cast [nomounted,modifier:alt] Summon Dreadsteed
/cast [nomounted,modifier:shift] Summon Felsteed
/dismount

Obviously, the windrider is an item you would use, not a spell you
would cast, but the macro does work. When I am in a flyable area, it
uses my flying mount. In a non-flyable area, summons my dreadsteed.
And if I want to force my dreadsteed in a flyable area, use the alt
modifier. The modifier for the felsteed is for the rare occasion I am
helping a level 40-60 guildy, lets them keep up with me.

Perhaps you could explain what it does then that it wouldn't do
without it? It looks redundant to me as it appears to be say cast the
item on your current target which is the behaviour that I would expect
if you hadn't specified the target.

He already explained that. If you have no target, then it doesn't try
to throw the booterang. Its not redundant in the sense that you're
not getting the error messages for trying to throw when you're not
targetting anything.

PV's macro with the /stopmacro [notarget] effectively does the same
thing.

Nice macros, I use the simple method though, /tar disobedient and have the
booterang next to it on the actionbar, hit it when in range Wink

FYI

Heroic Underbog awards the most rep out of all the Coilfang
instances. It is dependent however on clearing all the mobs from the
beginning of the instance, including the ones normally skipped by
players. It also has 4 bosses, where the other ones only have 3 I
believe.

I don't have the link to the website with me, but do a google search
for a world of warcraft reputation calculator. There is one out there
that has you enter you characters name and realm, then looks that
character up in the Armory and displays the rep information for all
the TBC factions. It will then show you information, such as how many
runs of specific instances it will take to reach the next rep level,
or how many turn ins of a certain item (such as coilfang armaments) it
will take to reach the next rep level.

Steamvaults and heroic Slave Pens award the same amount of rep, and
people always seem to be running heroic SP. And since you are already
honored, you can pick up the heroic key and run it, assuming you are
geared for it.

I'd love one for my blood elf, but the rep grind is really nasty. If
you did all the quests while levelling, the only way from honoured
to exalted is to grind Steamvaults over and over and over and over
and over and over and over.... Not a solo-able activity. Sad (Handing
in coilfang armaments helps too, but they only drop in steamvaults
and are rare on auction on my server...)

Yes, it is. Casting at your current target is the default.

Ah, neat! Thanks for that - your previous message didn't explain the
justification.

>Otherwise you get the annoying "You have no target" error every time.

I use /stopmacro for the same thing, but that's a handy trick to know. *
