Anyone know where the Net Book of Classes (put out by the Fantasy
Netbook Community Council) got to? Every link I've followed is either
dead or leads to a dead-link seller.

Have you checked Blue Troll or Community 3E? I think I may have seen
it on one of those. I'm leaning more toward Blue Troll. Dogpile it.

Good luck,
Eric

Well as a last resort you could try asking at the fancc yahoo group. I
think
it's still around, although activity-wise it's dead as a beaver cap, to
quote
the Duke.

Unfortunately, Blue Troll is one of the (effectively) dead ones. The books
that it has are the "Netbook of Classes and Kits" 1 and 2, dated 1997.
Presumably they're for AD&D2.

I went and looked at Community 3E. They have a bunch of classes and
prestige classes, but not the Netbook.

I also checked into the Wayback Machine, but they don't seem to have
recorded the file.

Oh, well.

I'm sure I've got a copy of it, most likely the 'latest' one (if there
were a newer one, I presume the site would still be up).

Was there a 3rd Edition version of this made?

I have the old Great Classes & Kits Netbook if that is what you're looking
for drop me a line and I'll send it to you. It's a pretty big file, half a
meg or more. I also have some individual classes developed as well.

I don't recall a link I used to get it, though. I'll keep my eyes open.

I used the Internet Archive Wayback Machine to find these URL's:

http://web.archive.org/web/20040613122925/members.optushome.com.au/mar...reth/NB
http://web.archive.org/web/20040614144822/nboclasses.fancc.net/downloads.html
Netbook of Classes sites

http://web.archive.org/web/20040613122925/http://members.optusnet.com....maransr
Book 1 - as of February 18, 2002

http://web.archive.org/web/20040613122925/http://members.optusnet.com....maransr
Book 2 - as of May 23, 2003

AFAIK there are no versions more recent than these.

The book to which I refer is a 3rd Ed. document, yes.

Unfortunately, those are 2nd Ed. I have them (somewhere) on my system, and
I found them at Blue Troll (dated 1997). Thanks anyway.

(Oh, regarding the size. The NBoC V1, zipped, is 3.3 MB, while the V2,
zipped, is just over 1 MB.)

My checks on the Wayback machine were for fancc, but somehow I missed the
fancc one you gave above.

I tried multiple times to download those darn things, and got a corrupt zip
file every time. Very annoying. Tried again this morning on my machine at
work, and got some success. Got the V1 and the V2 files. Got the Core
Class submission document, but not the Prestige Class one. The Wayback
Machine apparently didn't store it. Same for all the RTF versions of the
NBoC.

But, at least I got the V1 (which matches the one I already have) and the
V2. Thank you.

If that's the V1 version (Tome 1), I've got it already, thanks.

And thanks to Arivne's missive, I now have Tome 2, as well. I'm going to
try (sooner or later) to put them both up on my own web site, as it doesn't
make sense to let them disappear after all the work the original people put
into them.

Sorry couldn't be of more help. I hadn't come across a 3rd Ed. one in my
old searches. Lots of links to links to links to links out there, I'm
afraid. Nearly half the people who have ever played the game have put up
D&D-related websites with long lists of links, most of which are dead links.

Regarding above sizes, what format originally?
My copy of Tome1 (Jan 97) is in MS Word format unzipped at 656Kb. and
appears to be complete (and exhausting to look through).
