Even though it's in Japanese, if you know how to play this extremely
simple yet extremely addictive turn-based hexagonal strategy game, get
it while it's still online.
Although I've never played the Battle Isle games, from what I've read
that series was inspired by Nectaris / Military Madness.
Nectaris was originally released by Hudson Soft in 1989 for NEC's PC-
Engine game console (released over there in 1987) which was redesigned
as the TurboGrafx-16 for the U.S in 1989.
Nectaris was retitled Military Madness and released in late 1989 or
very early 1990.
It won at least two awards by two U.S. magazines
Video Games & Computer Entertainment - "1990 Best Military Strategy
Game Award"
Game Player's - "1990 Best War Game Award"
In 1997 a Windows 95 port was released in Japan with upgraded audio
and mouse support. This is one of the best versions of the original
game.
(the other is for the Sharp X68000 computer)
And it's FREE.
Why pay $6 for the TG16 version emulated (poorly) for the Wii Virtual
Console
when you can play a superior port for free.
