Was there ever an eprom cart that you could connect to the pc and program
with the files from emulators and play on the real thing?

not that i can recall, but there were devices made that you attach to the
n64 system and allowed you to download your carts into it so you didnt have
to switch them out all the time. there's one for sale on ebay right now.

Yeah there was some thing available in japan that sits under your console
and has the same outline shape, i think it may have had a hard drive or a
cd drive, i saw one up for about $1000 dollars about a month ago
