Yes, thats what happens Barbara when you spend too much time on one part
of the game. Its happened to me quite often.

So I move on in restoring the balance of power.......bringing peace etc. If
they didn't make these puzzles so time consuming I would haver restored the
balance allready.........

I can imagine. At least you were able to get interested in the game. I found
it too boring or maybe too hard for me
to figure out. I have to be interested in a game or I can't continue, though
I have managed to finish most games I've played. Most times using a
walkthrough though :p - are you using a walkthrough?

Of course I am using a walktrough ..... In a way this game is beautifull
done but the story is too fantastic I am not interested in it.
(remember the lighthouse? A baby is kidnapped bring it back that was the
story....so simple!)
Also those "plastic people" or puppies are to me of no value to the story,
on the contrairy they are boring way to overdone in how they look.....stupid
if you ask me.
I prefer a game with no actors just point and click in stead of these
"monsters"/people and a great voice will do for me.
Now don't ask me why I still play...............

I forgot all about Lighthouse. But I can remember that crying baby. Nothing
I would like to listen to in real life. that was a game I didn't finish
because I found it boring and tedious.

I don't think I need to ask - can it be your idol VonG? Did you see that
message here yesterday about Jane Jensen and hoping for GK4? Von G is
getting older by now. He used to be on American TV now and then, but haven't
seen it for a long time. I still have his signed photo though

Well, hard to believe but I am re-playing 7th Guest in Dosbox which works
well.. I've actually finished the game except for the microscope puzzle
which you don't need to finish to finish the game, but I am actually stuck
at the end of the game trying to find the part with the knives puzzle which
is on a door in the upstairs hallway, but I can't get it to activate. I've
checked 4 walkthroughs and all of them say the same thing that doing the
knife puzzle is across from the room where the coin puzzle was, but there is
no knives there and you can't access the door to find out. The waving hand
won't wave you there. I've replayed the game several times but not for a
long time. I checked all the rooms and seem to have done all the puzzles,
Its very frustrating to get to the end of a game and can't finish. I can't
think of anything else to do. I haven't played any newish games for a while.
there hasn't been any. I re-played Aura 1. Played And then there were none,
Sacred Rings, Silver Earring, Secrets of Atlanta. Tunguska but they were
all a while back. I may need a new video card and motherboard before I can
play any of the games coming up. Right now, my cupboard is bare for unplayed
games

That maze is so annoying. I think it is the worst maze I've done, though
Kyrandia in those caves was just as bad with the Grues. It took me several
days and several headaches to get through those mazes. (the microscope took
me two months).
You have to do the maze in 7th Guest to advance and you can't go to the
library to solve it. I also forgot you need to re-do the grate puzzle every
time you get kicked out of the maze. But this time I found a walkthrough
which tells you how to get out of the maze. If only it had been around the
first time I played the game. I always turned the volume down when I went in
the maze. I can't take Stauf for very long. I am finished the game except I
didn't do the microscope puzzle but you don't have to to finish, and I am
stuck at the end of the game. I have done all the puzzles but can't find the
door with the knives.I don't know why. I may have to forget about finishing
the game. Its still a good game with various kinds of puzzles, many of which
are quite interesting. The graphics at the time of release were very
advanced and are still OK today and the puzzles are better than many games
today.
