Myst on Linux - Anyone ever managed to get Myst i.e. the very first one, to run on Linux. First started playing the game years ago on a clapped out box running Win 98 which kept on crashing. I then installed Linux and have not been able to get Myst running using Wine.

Just bought Myst (10 ann. edition) again for PC. Completely unable to get it to respond, by menu selection or by hot-key Alt-T, to slow transitions, which as I recall give the game great depth and wonder. Moving through fast transitions makes it all seem so perfunctory, like for attention-span-deprived MTV generation. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Also, though graphics are good, menu and any ancillary screens appear as if in old CGA mode, very rough. >> Stay informed about: Myst 10th Ann edition - Transition problems
