Seeking-unsuccessfully-to keep Alawen alive for marksman training, my
avatar entered an oblivion gate near Troll Candle Camp. It projected him
into an extensive plane where he encountered another gate. Exiting that
second gate briefly he found himself somewhere east of Skingrad. So
there may be at least two and I suspect more, possibly up to four
oblivion gates attached to any oblivion sub-plane. There will also be at
least two and probably up to four corresponding Tower Portals each with
it's sigil stone. What a pity that it's not possible to just nip round
to all the Tower Portals in a sub-plane (is this the correct model ?)
and extract the sigil stones without being booted out-except perhaps
when taking the last stone.
From certain positions on the tower interconnecting bridges it is
sometimes possible to see at least two Oblivion Gates-and I believe my
avatar has seen three. This confirms what was raised in a recent post. >> Stay informed about: Multiple Gates |

Wouldn't it be cool if, while standing on one of those bridges and
looking off into the distance, you were to see Dagon lumbering across
the screen?
RWG (I think that'd make that main quest end scene that much more

On the other hand, if you can make your way to another gate, you can then
exit it and have it marked on your map for fast-travel, which is handy.
I've never been quite sure, on the multi-gate planes, whether there really
are multiple sigil towers, or if you simply have to enter the plane from
each gate and fight your way up to the same tower in order to close it. I
must try and find out sometime.

I've definitely been in one or two two-gate planes, but I don't think I've
seen three yet.

I was in a two gate plane the other night and I'm pretty certain there
was one tower and one route I passed Gate 2 en route from Gate 1.

I've just found a variation I hadn't come across before tonight - one Gate,
multiple sigil towers. It's weird to go through a sigil tower without the
big glowing fire-column in the middle. The one I've tackled so far had a
gate mechanism at the top, so presumably I'm looking at having to operate
gate controls in the first two towers in order to gain access to the third,
active one.

Overlooking the city in such a way that a fool (me) might rush off
thinking it was the official gate? Been there, remember the gloom of
the dead towers. Odd, though, because I thought those gates were
randomized.

I have entered this Olivion plane before. The 3 towers have broken bridges
which must be unlocked in the top of two towers so that those broken bridges
will be extended to reach the 3rd tower. If I remember correctly, one tower
is "sorrow", one tower is "anguish", the final one is....forgotten.
By the way the oblivion gate is located near the Brina Cross Inn (just SE of
it), which is NE of Anvil.

Yes, that was the one.

I'm pretty sure the locations of the non-quest gates are random. This one
was just north of Skingrad, near Bleak Flats Cave - and it has a twin mere
yards away, just outside Goblin Jim's Cave, which I'll be tackling shortly.
