I've got an old link cable (each end has the old large original GB plug, and
another that seems to fit into a GBC, GBA and SP). Should this be able to
work between a GBA and a GBA-SP? Or is the pin-out different on the GBA
compared with the GB/GBC?
I've got hold of two copies of Altered Beast, and tried this cable, but it
won't work. This is the only two player game that I have.
Thanks for any help.

i know the type of cable you mean, but havent seen one in years. iirc
they were made to connect the original style GB to the slimmer, later
GB/GBC versions, not the GBA/SP.

they might use the same connector, but it might be wired up
differently for the newer machines.

best bet is to get ahold of a SP->SP link cable, theyre pretty cheap
nowadays.

Thanks.
Any idea what the pin-out is? I might just hack the cable I have (although a
proper cable is less than a fiver).
