How many of the hard-core players amongst us use mouse steer on SA?

I ask because I can't get used to it (obviously) on the PC. I completed
the PS2 version not long after it was released, and am only now trying
to do the same on PC.

It seems well known that any aiming type mission is much easier using a
mouse, and I would agree. Indeed, Zero's first mission 'Air Raid', I
found very difficult on PS2, but completed first time on PC - without
missing a single plane. You can shoot all of them, easily.

I also find all the driving missions much easier using the keyboard
only. When on foot, I use 'AWSD' and the mouse, but when in a vehicle I
use the arrow keys to drive the thing, and 'AWSD' to control the camera.
This seems so much better. I did 'BMX Challenge' after an hour or so
like this. On the PS2, I smashed the controller to pieces, at 3am - with
a lump hammer, after /days/ of trying. The 3 'Chiliad Challenge's' were
much the same story (without the tool based destruction - I was on my
last controller).

Looking back at it now, I don't know how the hell I finished SA using a
shite PS2 controller. Six of your digits go to holding the dame thing!

I don't know if I'm hard-core, but I use mouse when on foot and when
driving cars, gamepad for other things (have a Saitek P2500 and also
an adapter for the PS2 controller). I always felt that an accurate
mouse gives a lot more precise control than a gamepad for driving.
Shooting too of course. The minigun is much more fun with mouse
aiming...
