I got my fast mount a little while ago, but i'm still holding onto my
(slow) mount. By me, they are both mechanostriders, non-working mirror
and all. Is it just me, or does anyone else find it hard to give up up
the first mount?
I tried "walking" with my fast mount. Is walking with a mount the same
speed as regular walking?

I will probably shed a tear when I let Clompy, my brown kodo, run free
by destroying his summonning item, but it's the decent thing to do. I
can't imagine being so attached to a mehanostrider (horrible polluting
things), but each to their own.

Yes, walking speed is fixed, regardless of mount, enchants, or anything
else. Walking is basically there for RP only, but there are a few
places where it is useful such as dropping off the ledge above the cave
over Wailing Caverns.

My first horse is still in the bank, and will probably stay there forever.
I have too many items sitting in the bank that I really should get rid of,
but hang onto for sentimental value, like my Thrash Blade that took me from
50 until well into my 60s. Wish I could buy more bankslots for less silly
prices - I might just cave in and pay the 100g for my last one, but once
that's gone I'm a bit stuck.

My lock got Whitemane's Chapeau at Scarlet Monastery, but I can't give up
my pointy little witch's hat that I got as the reward for killing the
corrupt Stormwind bureacrat who wouldn't stay bought.
I finally sold my blue staff that dropped in BFD. And before that I had
trouble giving up the Staff of Westfall. They served me so well for so
long.
I think it's going to be equally tough giving up the Golden Bloodrobe when
I finally find something better. (Not anytime soon.) >> Stay informed about: Mount, haven;t dropped old mount, walking with a mount. |

Level 39, robes of the lich from RFD. Visit obsessively until you get it -
you will be using it most if not all of the way to level 60. There's simply
isn't a better warlock robe until you can do UBRS (and get lucky, no
dreadmist robe in 10 runs) or Scholo (necropile). *

I loved the Whitemane's Chapeau got it first kill Served me well up to
Eye of Flames and looks so cool. Finally disenchanted it a few weeks ago
once I had Arcanist crown. >> Stay informed about: Mount, haven;t dropped old mount, walking with a mount. |

I wore my Bloodrobe well past 60 until I got Robe of Everlasting Night
in DM West. I missed RFD altogether on my lock. The Bloodrobe
remains in my bank and probably always will. I used to keep a ton of
old sentimental stuff but I had to get rid of *something*. So now my
rule is to keep quest drops as they are irreplaceable (can't do the
quest again). Other items that are "merely" drops can be replaced, if
I ever really want to, so they get the heave-ho in a pinch.

It's also one of the few robes that looks good with Witemane's
Chapeu.
