Missiles don't hit on some servers

Hi

I do fly jets alot in BF2 and play Oman in the last few
days because on wake the j10 dominates the f35 and i am not
always on chinese team

I can shoot down Migs when in a F35 and I can shoot down F35s when
in a Mig. But on some servers the missiles just don't hit even
if the opponent has no flares left and flys straight because he is
a noob pilot.
Then on other servers I can shoot down even good pilots when
they do endless loops.

Has it something to do with my and the opponents ping?

I usually have a good ping, because I use to find my servers by map
and then take the one with the best ping and player-number.
