Archived from groups: alt>games>vgaplanets4 (more info?)

Hi!

Can someone explain to me this data from an acutal turn...

ship's log: "Recharging minefield id 3231 with 2465 units of combat
ord"
Ship now has 7535 ord
Minefield 3231 has a radius of 30lj and now a power of 13

....with repect to this words from the wiki:

"...Recharging minefields consumes a fraction of the original amount of
ordnance that it took to drop the minefield initially...
....Example: If you set your ordnance level to 500, selected Laser as
the minefield type and enabled the Recharge button, any Laser Minefield
within 200 LY of the ship at the end of the turn that had less than 10
power remaining would be recharged up to 20 power if your ship had
adequate ordnance to perform this action..."

I have not checked all my rechargers yet but the ones I looked at all
has recharged with 2465 units of ord and they sem to add always ten
units of power. I thought a minefield will be recharged up to a power
of 20 if enough ord is in the recharger.

For example: a 5000er MF with a power of 9 should need 11/20*5000= 2750
ord for a full recharge.

But either I'm too dumb to understand or something is weird here.

Please help.

I think it finds the minefield in its range with the lowest power, and
adds 10 units of power.

So you can end up with minefields with a power higher than 20, if it
was recharged before it had dropped to 10. I think that 29 may be the
highest you could get though. I think there is a check if power <20
before it increases the power.

This sounds like a more correct answer and also holds true when max
minefield length is less that 20 as well
