What I got for christmas this morning (dec 24) was exactly 100 falacious
undeliverable mail messages in my inbox. Some people have the wierdest idea
of funny.
What I got yesterday evening when we had our family get together was a
barometer for on the wall, a kettle a big haul of high quality chocolate, a
bean bag for reading books in bed and two large bottles of my favourite
purfume. All in all a reasonable haul I thought.
So the blokes who send silly emails have no hope. I had great fun watching
my neices open their presents and listening to my grandfathers long time
girlfriend get drunk and weepy. I have a lovely turkey dinner (which I'm not
cooking) to look forward to and I wish you all every joy of the season.

Merry Christmas Mim. Enjoy your turkey - I am just about to go to bed. We
won't be doing the presents and turkey thing until the day afer tomorrow
when my eldest is here, but the younger 2 will be here and I am looking
forward to a peaceful Christmas Day.
I hope everyone has a lovely time.

Merry Christmas Mim & Kat! We won't be doing ours until Saturday so it will
be a quiet Christmas Day here too.
Kat, what time was it when you went to bed. The time here is showing 5:48
PM. I'm trying to figure out if you're 6 or 7 hours ahead of me.
I plan to watch some Christmas movies tonight, my husband will probably fall
asleep in the recliner. LOL

Yes, Merry Christmas to you, Mim, and to the rest of the simmers out
there! We had our big celebration here this afternoon with the kids and
grandkids and all the presents. We had more finger food than the dining
table could hold, so had to use part of the kitchen counter too.
Everyone was well fed and happy when they left.
We got several DVDs from the kids. "Mamma Mia," "The Dark Knight," all
four of the Indiana Jones movies, and two complete mini-series from TV
long ago, "Backstairs at the White House," and "Centennial." I got a
big fluffy robe, a new clock for my dining room wall, a snazzy salt and
pepper mill set, a keychain with a digital picture frame on it, and a
stuffed Horton the elephant from Horton Hears a Who. <g> I had knitted
everybody a sweater this year and they all fit perfectly so I was
tickled. A good Christmas all around.

Well done with those sweaters, I trust they all loved them after all your
hard work. I used to get one from my mum every year when I was younger, she
made some lovely ones.

Merry Christmas from me too!
After 5 days of working every day (only in the week before Christmas the
store's also opened on Sunday and Monday afternoon) I cannot see another
Christmas tree light or spare lights!
Last night we took it easy. Me and my sister got some money and gift
certificates for the Swarovski store. My father's got billiard balls and
half a TomTom (the other half he's getting for his birthday early
Januari). My mother received gift certificates for an online bookstore
and a book. My father bought a family present: a Wii. Me and my sister
now both have sore right arms, but it's great fun to play.
Today my parents went to my granmother who's in the hospital recovering
from a broken hip and later tonight going to fondue Bourguignonne
(everyone has a small pan and there are small pieces of meat and other
things you can cook). Tomorrow is another lazy day.
Then we have to prepare for the post-Christmas run, another period we
sell a lot of spare bulbs and of course coloured light bulbs for the New
Year's parties.

They did seem to like them. Everyone took off whatever they had been
wearing and put them on so I guess they must have liked them, eh? LOL

Same here! I've been waiting for years for Ally McBeal to come out on
DVD and England's had it for a long time! I could pick it up at ebay if
I had a player that played region 2 disks.
