I have a Crusin Exotica, Hydrothinder & Crusin USA that will not stay
focused.
I have capped them and adjust t he focus block. And every time we play
them, the focus gets worse.

I am thinking the flybacks are getting weak or goind bad and my high
voltage is flutuating.

Any other ideas?

Don't discount the tube going bad. Had that happen once. Turned out to
be the tube. Try this. With a rubber ended screw driver, tap very very
lightly on the tube neck glass. And I mean lightly, if this affects
the focus then it's the tube. If not, then I'm not sure what monitor
you have, you may wanted to check into the B+ adjustment and see if
it's right on. I've had a monitor that had the b+ too low and turned
out to be that the adjustment pot was bad. I changed this and adjusted
the b+ to 120vdc and all was well.

Are they all Neo-tec's? They are known for that sort of thing.

Might also need to shoot the tube with a rejuvenator.

i had that prob with 3 neotecs in 3 diferent cruisn worlds (even after
rebuilds). i kept having to adjust between the flyback focus and the
brightness plus contrast on the remote board. finally, the right
combo worked between the 3.

Let me guess, a neotec with a zenith tube?.. its likely your tube..
yes a new flyback should be able to keep up with older worn tubes.

I just had a merit type 50 (ducksan) monitor that had horrible focus and
it turned out to be the filter cap on the B+ supply. It was puffed out,
obviously bad.

I will try the tips mentioned. I will have to check the chassis and
tube make.

What really gets me is that it may go awhile in focus then when it get
bad, its really bad fast.
