I thought I saw a red Maximum Carnage came with a matching red box?
I could of sworn I saw one online the other day. Previously I had
thought that
all copies of the game came with black box. Now I'm not so sure.
Someone
please clarify.

I have the red cart (genesis). I got it locally. It's imperative that
I get a red
box for it if it exists. I've never tried playing the game on the
SNES. My guess
is it would not be as good. I've always found the Genesis controller
to be
superior to SNES controller. And the Genesis always seems to win out
with me when the two systems go head to head.

There was a "special edition" version of MA that came in a red
cartridge(not sure on the box thing) for both the Genesis and SNES. I
used to have the red SNES cart, but currently only have the black
Genesis cart. There's nothing different about the actual game inside...

I've not ever seen a red box for it, either on SNES or Genesis. This is
something I'd hit ebay for though. Just type in the game's name and look
at all the pics listed. If you don't see it there, then I'd guess it
really doesn't exist.

Normally I'd agree, but the SNES's awesome soundtrack puts it ahead on
this one. It's just incredible how great it is. Makes me weep when I
think about it, as there was a Sega CD version planned...imagine that
redbook audio on that...

If you're up for a quick bit few samples:

I've seen red carts in regular boxes for the Genesis version, and I've
never seen a red box. That doesn't mean it's not out there though.

Well, it does sound a bit better. However, I still think the controls
would be a problem Very Happy

It works out pretty well on the SNES, though I do prefer the Genesis 6
button for most things. This is one of those games that doesn't really
have to have the most awesome controller ever to be played, and well...

Does Maximum Carnage hold to the standard limitations of characters on
screen? I always go with Beat-Em ups on Genesis because there is
usually twice the enemies to fight. Slapping around 4-8 enemies at once
is much more entertaining than the 3 every SNES Beat-Em up I've played has.

Both versions have the same amount of enemies on screen.
