Expect to pay a lot of money, or have people like me who certainly
wont part with their copy of Martian Dreams, not even over their dead
body, for even then, the powerful magic wards protecting it will be in
place.

I just saw a copy of Martian Dreams on Ebay for 200 bucks. It is still
in its wrap but I'm kicking myself as I'm sure I sold mine for next to
nothing about 7 years ago.
Not the dumbest thing I've ever done but close.

You can get SE as part of EA Pack 11 (I think it's eleven), though I don't
know if that's still available.
It has a lot of other old titles like Strike Commander and Shadowcaster on it
as well.

Actually I checked what old games I've got in a box in the garage and
that set is there. Is there any way I can get Martian Dreams on a
collection? Looks like Origin are going out of their way to make it
rare.

It was because of that fact that Richard Garriot claimed at one point that he
was going to make the Martian Dreams sourcecode (the actual code!) available
on the internet free of charge. However nothing ever became of that.

Buying a flat and then selling it for twice what I bought it for. That
may not seem so dumb but the price of the flat two years after I sold it
was 6-8 times what I paid for it. We had a property boom in 2001-2003
in the UK and I sold it just before that. I was too lazy and too cheap
to do it up so somebody else did and its now worth a bomb. In my
defense I didn't have a job at the time and money was tight and bills
for this property that I couldn't rent out were rolling in.
