Hi there

My kid is just about old enough to use my old GBA, so I let him play
Mario Kart.

He's now asking me all about the rankings and blanked out tracks. Does
anyone have a definitive guide to what makes the rankings change? I
have never got above an 'A' ranking despite having over 130 coins and
winning every race on 50cc.

But I hear there are star rankings too. And what do you have to get to
unlock the secret tracks?

Many thanks
Ed

Thanks, I'll check it out. I thought it was 25 coins per track but last
night he got 25+ on each track and all first place but still ranked B!

Might be 25, if there's only 4 tracks in a GP, which thinking about it,
is probably the case.

Please can someone help me do a powerslide, i am trying to follow these
instructions but i cant make it work

As in Mario Kart 64, you are able to power slide in this game as well!
To
perform a power slide, press and hold R to hop while holding Left or
Right.
When you land, you'll slide in the direction you were holding. After
about 2
seconds, let go of the R button and stop sliding. When you drive
straight,
you'll be given a boost, which is the result of a power slide. It may
take a
little bit of practice to pull it off, but it helps when trying to get
around
hairpin turns,
