OK, so I had 4 of these damn things recently. The ONE that I decide to keep
for my Star Wars has a bad yoke! If I turn the yoke to square the image on
the screen the graphics go all Klingon printing looking on me. I've looked
very carefully at the yoke for windings with the coating missing but have
found nothing!

So now I need a friggin Amplifone deflection yoke! Anyone have one FS?

Matt,

You sure you don't have a amplifone raster yoke on that tube?

Sounds like what I got out of it when I tried that litle experiment Smile

I'm positive. It works and looks fine when the yoke is twisted slightly. If
I try to put it where the screen would be square its all messed up.

I never thought of trying a raster yoke on one of these things. How much
smoke came off of the deflection board?

No smoke. The impeadence on raster yokes is higher. It's acually
quite easy on the deflection amp.

I did my experiment by accident because it looks the same as the
vector yoke (connector and all!).

Are you sure when you turn that thing center you don't have a magnetic
shunt interfereing on the back of the tube?

How does it look if you turn the picture 180 degrees?

Wierd....

I pulled the shunts off of the tube and the issue is still there. If I
rotate the yoke 180 degrees its fine but in many places in between it wigs
out.
