I'm running an older version of Mame32 and considering switching to
MameUI.
Does it work with Maximus Arcade frontend?
In my current version, for some odd reason I can't get the games like
tempest, star wars, gravitar, etc to work. Was the graphics
management improved in the MAMEUI?
(Direct3d mode selected, is that the right one?) >> Stay informed about: Mame32 versus MAMEUI |

MAMEUI *is* MAME32. It was just renamed (now that there is a 64bit build
as well)

MAMEUI is MAME with an integrated GUI. Why the heck using a frontend
then? Either you use an external frontend and use MAME with it, or you
stick with MAMEUI.

They all work fine. >> Stay informed about: Mame32 versus MAMEUI |

MAMEUI does work with Maximus and it is a fine idea to do that, since
you can set up mame how you like it in the UI without having to specify
command lines in the frontend, and heck, he might want to play other
emulators too! >> Stay informed about: Mame32 versus MAMEUI |

Could Kaillera work with MAMEUI?

It's a closed source which breaks part of the mame licence.
From mamedev.org:
"Redistributions that are modified from the original source must include
the complete source code, including the source code for all components
used by a binary built from the modified sources. However, as a special
exception, the source code distributed need not include anything that is
normally distributed (in either source or binary form) with the major
components (compiler, kernel, and so on) of the operating system on
which the executable runs, unless that component itself accompanies the
executable." >> Stay informed about: Mame32 versus MAMEUI |

The source is available for their emulator, but the Kaillera client itself
(the official one, anyway) is closed source. Linking MAME to the closed
source client is the only part that's a license violation, I think. >> Stay informed about: Mame32 versus MAMEUI |
