Madden 2006 Questions and Thoughts

Having been a huge fan of the 2Kx series of games on Dreamcast and XBOX, I
was very unhappy to hear of the exclusive license for Madden in 2006.

But, I finally caved in and got Madden 2006 for the PC. Overall I like it
and it will do until someone decides to improve the overall presentation.
While I like Al Michales, the presentation in Madden is so lackluster
compared to ESPN, which had some really nice halftime highlights and weekly
recaps. I wish they would incorporate this into 2007.

My main question is punt returns - is it me or is it nearly impossible to
return one, even a few yards. I usually get slammed, muff or fumble a punt
once it gets to my player. I am using an older Sidewinder gamepad and don't
know which button is fair catch.

Make sure your punt returner is highlighted. I have the old Sidewinder
and you press the "Y" button to call for a fair catch. I've found some
success returning punts by backing my returner up a few extra yards
beyond what the game sets him up at then coming up to the spot where
the ball is going to land to catch it. Also I rarely do returns up the
middle. Choose either left or right punt return. Hope this helps.
