I have played just about every MMO in out there, and I always find myself coming back to the same game.

Ultima Online

If you read the everquest 1 FAQ it will say that the game was inspired by ultima online. There are 2 clients available for UO, a 2d client and a 3d client which is newer..

I play on http://www.tdsuo.com, you will be redirected to tempboards since webserver is down. This is one of the many free servers available to play on. There are 300+ free servers available and all the sites are unique and have download instructions.

One nice feature of this game is you can own houses/castles and place them in the world, they aren'[/b]t instanced zones like in WoW or EQ2.
