I've managed to ban out weird messages with a tinfoil hat.
It doesn't help on those darn MI5 Persecution though. They keep coming
and they're deleted by the server (motzarella) before I can open them.
And that's probably a good thing.
One riddle is solved though. We now know why there's no Monkey Island 5
coming. British MI5 agents are preventing it through the miracle of spam.

Well unless Lucasarts re-hire Ron Gilbert, Dave Grossman and Tim Schafer
I'm going to be persecuting any suggestion of an MI5 as well. >> Stay informed about: MI5 Persecution: Lucasarts don't make it 20/8/07 (45618) |

I don't see their absence as a real problem. I think it's much more
likely LA will throw too much eye-candy at it and forget about the
gameplay. A good storyline seems doable to me, as well as the tone and
humor. I just fear they'll create a awesome sword-fighting engine and
forget about the insults or good puzzles.
They might even come up with a great game, sort of like open GTA world
with pirates and ships. But that would just be GTA with pirates, not MI,
even if you add the right amount of jokes.

It's not so much the absence of those people in particular as it is the
absence of anyone with more than the slight scrap of talent it takes to
pump out the odd Star Wars shooter and the ability to outsource like crazy.
I guess I wouldn't mind if they had someone else make it and just
published it, but anything from lucasarts' inhouse team had better have
a solid ground concept (that they'd have to stumble on by sheer chance)
or it will be a steaming pile of pudu. >> Stay informed about: MI5 Persecution: Lucasarts don't make it 20/8/07 (45618) |
