The scary thing is that since there actually is the silly "chicken play"
already in the game, this doesn't seem beyond something the dev team would
do.

I haven't played this in a long time. But I guess that's the beauty of my
buying that lifetime subscription. At some point I will want to get back. Last
time I played I had finished book 6 but was looking to go back and do book 5.
What does this expansion bring?

You really need to click the link and see for yourself what the
expansion brings. Then take today's date into consideration. LOL

Am I alone in thinking it'd be pretty damn fun to play a chicken based
class in a game ?

Actually, it is pretty fun! I just tried the "play as a chicken" thing
they introduced awhile back today... and it was fun! No fighting...
lots of avoiding...

They actually do have "chicken play" since book 9, I think. Start it off
in the Shire doing some quests for a chicken farmer. Most of the actual
chicken-play quests involve running across the map to reach other remote
destinations. If your chicken form is threatened you have the ability to
play dead, although that may not fool some monsters.

It's kind of fun though, and a very minor optional part of the
game. It's not totally inconsistent with Tolkien either, who
did write stories for children (gasp) and had somewhat
sentient animals and talking trees. If this drives away some
hardcore players from the game, so much the better.

I did like the bit in one quest where we're all helping
Radagast in a big fight through an area. He keeps stopping
and talking to the animals along the way (you only hear his
side). Then he leaves us to face some wights alone while
he leads his animal friends somewhere safe.

Smile Surprisingly, as much as I love wolves as an animal, the Monster Play wargs didn't do it for me in LOTRO.
Must just be my PvP aversion... :-/. I almost got a priest/druid to warden
(wolf shapeshifter) levels in EQ2 before I gave up. Can't get past my
necro-philia addiction! >Wink

Here's a bit of a laugh: type "Everquest 2 classes" in Google & see what the
2nd hit is lol!

I tried that and the 2nd link is to the Sony Everquest 2 discussion boards. Am
I being dense or perhaps it matters which country you are in?
